Schenectady County Code Blue Emergency Shelter

When the temperature drops, no one should have to face the winter cold alone. Schenectady County's Code Blue Partnership provides a safe, warm place for those in need during cold winter weather.

Schenectady County Declares Code Blue When the Overnight Temperatures Drop Below 32 Degrees.

When a Code Blue is declared, the County's homeless shelters extend their hours of operation to allow those who need shelter to remain indoors during inclement winter weather. Schenectady County has worked with providers to create additional Code Blue beds over the last few years to increase the number of people who can be served when the temperature drops below freezing.
