Schenectady Human Rights Commission Event Highlights

Your Right to Fair Housing-  March 30, 2023

On March 30, 2023, fair housing advocates and Schenectady County residents came together to engage in friendly, open conversations about fair housing protections based on race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The event location was hosted by Schenectady Inner City Ministry – SICM. Schenectady County Human Rights office believes in building pathways towards solutions which is evident in the photographs featuring housing advocates, Schenectady County property owners, County and City elected officials, and tenants. Evening topics and conversations intersected along several common themes – understanding of rights, good lines of communication, and the need for collaboration. SCHRC is working to find new opportunities for collaboration and increasing community connections to develop and implement programs that improve community relations.
