Veterans & Military Family Support Program & Peer to Peer Food Pantry

The Schenectady County Veterans Service Agency's Veteran and Military Family Group Support Program provides immediate, critical support to veterans and active military families facing hardships. As a veteran-run program, we understand the unique challenges veterans and military families encounter, especially when they're caught between basic necessities and paying bills. That's why our program is designed to provide immediate assistance with everyday household items, easing the burden during times of need. 

This program is available to active military personnel and their families, as well as anyone who has served in the armed forces, regardless of veteran status.

What we Offer:

This program provides essential household and hygiene items to veterans and military families when they need it most, including:

  • Laundry Detergent
  • Bodywash (Adult & Baby)
  • Diapers & Wipes
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Adult Diapers
  • Blankets
  • Hats, Gloves& Scarves
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Other On-the-Go Hygiene Products

The program is designed for those times when you need a little extra. Whether you or someone you know is dealing with an unexpected financial burden or a tough situation that makes it difficult to afford the essentials, the Schenectady County Veteran and Military Family Support Program is here to support you. Unhoused veterans in shelters or who are not ready to come off the street are welcome and encouraged to seek support.

Veterans Food Pantry

The Schenectady County Peer to Peer Veterans Program supports a food pantry to complement the Schenectady County Veteran and Military Support Group Program. The Veterans Food Pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items, snacks, and additional toiletries, ensuring all household needs are addressed.
