Schenectady County Public Health Services was granted a Certificate of Approval to operate an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program. The purpose of this program is to educate community members on opioid overdose prevention. 

Interested individuals can complete the training by viewing the recording above. This training is free to Schenectady County residents and employees. Those who view the training (above) will learn the following; how to recognize an overdose, how to respond to a suspected overdose and how to administer Narcan. Individuals will also receive information on the Naloxone Co-payment Assistance Program, as well as other related resources.

Those who are interested in obtaining a Narcan kit can fill out the form below after completing the training. After completing the form, a member of our team will reach out to you to provide you with a kit. Please be advised that this program does not constitute as medical education for providers in terms of clinical certification.
