County Offices Closed on March 14, County Legislature Meeting Postponed Until March 16

Schenectady County has declared a state of emergency due to a forecasted major weather event with anticipated wet heavy snowfall, drifting, and icy road conditions. The state of emergency is in effect from 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 and restricts travel to essential personnel.

County offices will be closed, including the County’s COVID-19 vaccine POD and test site at the McClellan Street Health Campus and all 9 branches of the Schenectady County Public Library system. Residents who have an appointment scheduled with a county department on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 should reach out to reschedule.

The regular meeting of the County Legislature scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 is postponed until Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Code Blue

Schenectady County has extended their Code Blue declaration until 8:00 a.m. on March 17, 2023. During a Code Blue declaration the county’s homeless shelters extend their hours of operation to allow those who need shelter to remain indoors during inclement winter weather.
