Vaccine Trolley Stops at 2 Locations on Thursdays

Schenectady County announced its June COVID-19 Vaccine PODs. No appointments are needed – individuals can just show up to any of these PODs to receive a vaccination.

Schenectady County is working to increase vaccine accessibility throughout the County by offering PODs in multiple locations at various times of the day. The County currently ranks first in New York State for adult (18+) vaccination – 76.5% of County residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose1.

“Accessibility is key to getting our community vaccinated,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Vice Chair of the Committee on Health and Human Services. “Our Public Health team is offering COVID-19 vaccines 6-days a week in June to make it easier for families to access. If you aren’t already vaccinated, we encourage you to visit one of our June PODs to receive a free vaccine.”

June Community PODs

Schenectady County is holding regular free COVID-19 vaccine PODs 6-days a week in June. All PODs are open to walk-ins – no appointment needed.

Proof of age is required. For individuals younger than the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent for vaccination, either verbally while accompanying the minor to the vaccination appointment, or by phone at the time of the vaccination appointment. If the minor is 12-15 years old, they must arrive with a parent or guardian OR they need to bring another adult caregiver who has a signed designation (consent form) from the parent or guardian and the parent/guardian must be available by phone. Consent forms are available at www.schenectadycounty.com/COVID19/vaccine.
