Rock'n Around the Tree at the Pre-Parade Block Party

Young parade-goers and the young at heart enjoyed meeting their favorite holiday heros, grabbed a cup of hot cocoa from their favorite downtown cafe, and had some festive fun in the Jay Street Kid Zone.

Grand Central Station warmed up the crowd and got people dancing in the street. With a blend of party tunes and holiday classics, the six-piece band spread festive cheer up and down State Street.

Thousands of neighbors from across the region lined the streets. Before the parade, the Schenectady County Legislature helped the City of Schenectady light the Holiday Tree on the corner of Jay and State Street.

A Fun Evening Filled with Smiles & Holiday Cheer!
