Schenectady County Seeks Poll Inspectors for Upcoming Election

Schenectady County Board of Elections Update

The Schenectady County Board of Elections is seeking registered voters to serve as poll inspectors during the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Poll inspectors are responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including: signing in voters, directing voters to their correct polling place, assisting voters needing help voting and documenting information on appropriate forms. Bilingual individuals, speaking fluent English and Spanish, are also needed and encouraged to apply.

“We greatly appreciate any Schenectady County resident willing to serve their community in this role. Poll inspectors play a key part in the Election process and help to ensure ballots are handled in the proper manner and that all voters have a great experience at the polls,” said Board of Elections Commissioners, Amy Hild and Darlene Harris

Poll workers can earn $250 for working on Election Day (5am-9:30pm) and $40 for training.

Requirements to be a Schenectady County poll inspector:

  • At least 18 years old;
  • Registered voter in Schenectady County;
  • Proficiency in English – Bilingual workers also needed; and
  • Willing to serve the voting public.
