Over 1,750 Tests Conducted Since Opening

Starting on Monday, January 24, 2022 Schenectady County will offer free COVID-19 testing to all County residents at the new testing site located at Ellis Medicine’s McClellan Street Health Center. The test site is run by Schenectady County Public Health Services (SCPHS) and appointments are available at www.schenectadycounty.com/COVID19.

The testing site was initially set up to provide school-related testing for students and their families, and school employees, to allow students to return to school as quickly and safely as possible after a potential exposure. After operating the site for a couple of weeks the County reassessed testing capacity and determined that the site could be open to all County residents.

“Testing is such an important resource as we continue to navigate through the pandemic,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “If you or someone you know has been exposed to COVID or has symptoms we encourage you to get tested. Knowing your status can help slow the spread of the virus in our community.”

Location: Ellis Medicine McClellan Street Health Center

                 600 McClellan Street, Schenectady 12304

Dates: Monday – Friday (closed on County holidays)

Times: 9am to 2pm

The test site officially opened on January 4, 2022. Over 1,750 tests have been conducted since the site opened.
