One of Only 6 Counties with Highest Bond Rating Category in NYS As Rated by Moody’s

The Schenectady County Legislature announced that the County has maintained its Aa1 bond rating, which Schenectady County has held for almost a decade. There are currently only 6 counties in New York State with this top rating.

Moody’s recognized the County’s “strong fiscal management, ample reserves and liquidity, and manageable long-term liabilities” in their release.

“Once again Schenectady County is only one of a few counties across the state to receive a bond rating of Aa1 from Moody’s,” said Schenectady County Legislator Philip Fields, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means. “Even in our current environment, the fiscal changes and priorities Schenectady County has implemented continue to pay off, which will result in continued savings for Schenectady County taxpayers.”
