Schenectady County Launches Project to Honor Local Veterans

Graphic with American Flag, Schenectady County Seal and Text: Schenectady County Veterans Photo Wall, Help Us Honor Those Who Served!

The Schenectady County Veterans Service Agency (SCVSA) is inviting residents to submit photos of military veterans for a special display wall. This project aims to collect and showcase photos of local veterans during their time of service, honoring their dedication and sacrifice for our country. The display will be available for the community to view at the Hon. Karen B. Johnson (Central) Library in celebration of Veterans Day, and afterwards the photos will be displayed at the SCVSA.

“This project is a wonderful way to recognize and celebrate the many residents of Schenectady County who have served in the military,” said Schenectady County Legislator Holly Vellano, Chair of the Military Affairs & Veterans Committee. “I encourage everyone to participate and help us honor the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.”

Photos can be dropped off at the SCVSA office, located at 797 Broadway in Schenectady, or submitted online at https://www.schenectadycountyny.gov/veterans/photo-wall. The deadline to submit photos for the display is Sunday, November 3.

For more information or to submit photos, please visit https://www.schenectadycountyny.gov/veterans/photo-wall or contact the SCVSA at (518) 377-2423.
