The Schenectady County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC) will host An Artist Perspective: Defying a Broken System, a powerful civil rights photo series capturing the struggle for justice through historic imagery in celebration of Black History Month during Art Night Schenectady.
As part of the exhibit, visitors can experience original photos from the Broken Concrete series by Latasha “Freedom” McBride, SCHRC’s first featured artist, whose work explores healing, self-love, and social change. Selected pieces from the Commission’s Crucial Community Conversation: Hispanic Heritage series will also be on display and are available for online viewing, celebrating the deep ties between art and human rights.
