Schenectady County Public Health Services (SCPHS) is hosting a free naloxone training and information session for community members on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in Scotia.
SCPHS is hosting a series of in-person trainings and information sessions throughout 2024 to empower community members with the knowledge and skills to address opioid overdose effectively. These sessions provide valuable education on recognizing the signs of overdose, preventative measures, and the administration of Naloxone, equipping attendees with life-saving techniques and access to essential resources in combating opioid-related emergencies. Participants will receive a free naloxone kit and fentanyl/xylazine test strips upon completion of the training.
“This free naloxone training offers essential skills that can make a life-saving difference in an emergency,” said Schenectady County Legislator Michelle Ostrelich, Chair of the Health, Housing & Human Services Committee. “By learning how to administer this powerful tool, you can help protect your loved ones and community from the dangers of opioid overdose.”
