
Encourages Residents to Participate
Schenectady County is hosting a free NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program class in partnership with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (NYSDHSES) for residents on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The class will teach participants how to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and other emergencies. Each family that attends will receive one preparedness kit.
“Being prepared can make all the difference when it comes to keeping ourselves and our families safe during an emergency,” said Schenectady County Legislator Pete Frisoni, Vice Chair of the Public Safety Committee. “This training program gives residents the essential tools and knowledge to prepare for any disaster, helping ensure we're all better equipped when it matters most.”

Location: McChesney Room at the Hon. Karen B. Johnson Library, 99 Clinton Street in Schenectady
Residents are encouraged to sign up and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to learn practical steps for staying safe during a crisis. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
