Schenectady County is proud to announce the graduation of a class of eight Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) students from Glendale Home. This is the second class to graduate from Glendale’s CNA training program, which was approved by NYSDOH this spring.
The County opened the state-of-the-art Glendale Home in 2014 to provide residents with a place they could age in their own community. The graduates will continue to perform clinical duties and classroom skills review at Glendale while they wait to take the New York State Department of Health certified nurse assisting exam. Upon passing the exam a certificate will be awarded and the individual will be entered into the New York State nurse aide registry.
“At a time when healthcare workers are in high demand, the new CNA training program at our Glendale Home not only addresses a critical need but also offers a rewarding career path for those entering the field,” said Gary Hughes, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Congratulations to all eight graduates—your dedication and commitment are commendable, and we look forward to seeing the impact you will have in caring for our community.”
Glendale Home plans to hold CNA training classes several times a year. Those interested in applying can reach out to Glendale’s Human Resources Department for more information by calling (518) 384-3600.
Students in the program are paid while they learn, and upon successful completion of the course and passing the state exam, they are offered a position with Glendale. Glendale Home is looking for the right candidates who are eager to start a rewarding career in healthcare.
