Schenectady County Clerk Seeks Businesses to Participate in Return the F.A.V.O.R. Program

Return the FAVOR

The Schenectady County Clerk's Office is seeking local businesses to participate in the relaunching of the County's Return the F.A.V.O.R. (Find and Assist Veterans of Record) program.

The program was created to recognize the service and sacrifices make by Schenectady County Veterans, by providing them and active duty military with a discount on purchases or services at participating businesses. As part of the program, participating Veterans can file their discharge paperwork (DD-214) with the County Clerk’s Office. Once on file, the County Clerk can provide certified copies to Veterans and their spouses should they need them in the future.

“My office has received calls from Veterans and family members who are searching for a DD-214 in order to receive services, only to find we don’t have one on file,” said Schenectady County Clerk Cara M. Ackerley. “This program is not only a way for our community to recognize the service and sacrifices made by our Veterans, it’s also a way to safeguard one of the most important documents a servicemember receives throughout their military career.”

Participating merchants will receive a program decal to display at their business. Businesses are encouraged to sign up by December 20 for the 2022 calendar year.

Businesses interested in participating in the program can get more information or sign up at www.schenectadycounty.com/RTF.
