Schenectady County Return the FAVOR program recognizes the service and sacrifices make by Schenectady County Veterans, by providing them and active duty military with a discount on purchases or services at participating businesses.
As part of the program, participating Veterans can file their discharge paperwork (DD-214) with the County Clerk’s Office. Once on file, the County Clerk can provide certified copies to Veterans and their spouses should they need them in the future.

The Return the FAVOR Discount Program provides Veterans and active duty military with a discount on purchases or services at participating County merchants. Veterans will receive a Return the FAVOR ID card that they will show to receive the discount. Participating merchants agree to honor the card by providing holders with a discount of their choice in 2022. Program participation is for the calendar year and businesses must renew for subsequent years.
Participating businesses will be provided with an attractive window sign identifying the merchant as a participant of this program. Additionally, the business’s name, address and discount will be listed on the Schenectady County Return the FAVOR website. Involvement in the program allows businesses to show their support for Veterans and active military.
