The 53rd Annual Holiday Parade Theme Announced – “Dream Big”

2022 Annual Holiday Parade Dream Big

Parade Entry Applications Open Until October 15

Participants Can Choose to Perform

The 53rd Annual Holiday Parade, presented by the City and County of Schenectady, announced this year’s theme – “Dream Big”. This year, for the first time, parade participants can opt to perform for 45 seconds at the reviewing stand, which is in front of Proctors Theatre. The parade will start at 5pm on November 19, 2022, in downtown Schenectady.

The Parade is produced under the leadership of the City and County of Schenectady, and in partnership with the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation, The Chamber of Schenectady County and Discover Schenectady. Applications are open until October 15 for groups who would like to participate.

“We’re so excited to be a part of this beloved Schenectady County tradition that attracts visitors from all across the region,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “This year we challenge participants to ‘Dream Big’ when designing their floats and performances. Join us along the parade route on November 19 to see what they create.”

“We are proud to once again host the 53rd Annual Holiday Parade here in downtown Schenectady,” Mayor Gary McCarthy said. “This is an incredibly special event each year and we welcome families from all across the region to join us as we kick off the holiday season.”

“Help us kick off the holiday season at the Northeast’s largest nighttime parade, right here in our back yard,” said Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Tourism, Arts and Special Events Committee. “This event draws 15,000 visitors to downtown and is a great showcase for all the amazing entertainment and attractions Schenectady County has to offer year-round.”

Applications are available at www.schenectadycounty.com/parade. Entrance fees are $100 or $75 for non-profit organizations. Applications and fees must be submitted or postmarked no later than October 15, 2022. Follow @SchenectadyCounty on Facebook for the latest updates.
