Schenectady County will host a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic from August 1-12, 2022 for children ages 2–4-years old. The clinic will be held at County’s COVID-19 vaccine POD and testing site, located at Ellis Medicine’s McClellan Street Health Center. A parent or guardian must accompany the child to their vaccine appointment.
Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available at the clinic, by appointment only. Appointments are available at www.schenectadycounty.com/COVID19/vaccine. Moderna is a two-dose series, with the second dose scheduled for one month after the first, and Pfizer is a three-dose series, with the second dose scheduled for three weeks after the first, and the third dose scheduled at least eight weeks after the second dose. Appointments for second doses will be scheduled during the initial vaccine appointment.
“Children of any age can contract the virus that causes COVID-19 as well as spread it to others,” said Schenectady County Legislator Michelle Ostrelich, Chair of the Health, Housing and Human Services Committee. “Vaccination will help protect your little ones from the risk of severe disease and will help them stay in school or daycare if they are exposed to someone with COVID-19.”
