The Schenectady County Public Library will host the return of the Electric City Comic Con from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Hon. Karen B. Johnson (Central) Library. Event admission is free, in partnership with the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library. Over 1,800 people attended the most recent Electric City Comic Con, which was held in 2019.
The event will feature activities for all ages, including Superhero Stretch yoga for kids, balloon twisting, a cosplay demonstration and costume contest, an interactive sound-to-art crowd participation visualization exercise, an action figure photo booth, library service demonstrations and workshops, kids’ crafts, and The Costumer will provide a cosplay/costume triage area.
“We are so excited for the return of the Electric City Comic Con this year,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Chair of the Education & Libraries Committee. “This free event is a much-needed creative outlet for residents of all ages after a two-year pandemic hiatus. With so many different activities throughout the day, there is something for everyone!”

Artist Alley
‘Artist Alley,’ comprised of fifteen artists and authors, will be centered around the adult reference desk in the main area of the library. Visit each artist to complete a scavenger hunt and receive a prize.
Vendors and Food Trucks
Ten local vendors will be at the Electric City Comic Con from 10am to 4pm, including Bear and Bird, Sassy’s Satellite, The Costumer, and Toying Around. Kona Ice, Sara’s Kitchen and Backyard BBQ food trucks/tents will be located outside on the Liberty Street side of the building.
