Better than Ezra to Headline Event

Grammy Nominated, platinum selling band Better than Ezra will headline Schenectady County SummerNight 2022, on Friday, July 22, 2022. This free summer family-friendly block party, with the support of our presenting sponsors Rivers Casino & Resort and Saratoga Eagle, in partnership with the City of Schenectady, will be held from 5-10pm in Downtown Schenectady (on State Street between Broadway and Barrett Street and on the Jay Street Pedestrian Mall) – right in the heart of the city’s revitalized downtown.

“The Capital Region’s biggest summer block party is back after two long years,” said Schenectady County Legislator Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Tourism, Arts and Special Events Committee. “We’re excited to announce that alt rock band Better than Ezra will headline Schenectady County SummerNight on July 22. Make sure to mark your calendars – you don’t want to miss this night of music, food and fun for the whole family!”

This year’s celebration will feature live musical performances on two stages, games, and great food. The Main Stage on State Street will rock throughout the evening with the sounds of some of your local favorite bands, headlined by Better Than Ezra, followed by the grand finale Price Chopper & Market 32 fireworks.

The sand sculpture sponsored by Sunmark FCU will be created on site starting at 10am in the MVP Health Care Kids Zone. Kid-friendly activities including free face painting, a rock-climbing wall, art activities by Kids Artfest and so much more.

Downtown restaurants and vendors will offer food, drinks, and desserts for sale throughout the event. Many restaurants and shops will be open for business during the event, some bringing their operations outdoors.

Schenectady County SummerNight is presented by Rivers Casino & Resort and Saratoga Eagle, in partnership with the City of Schenectady, Sunmark Federal Credit Union, Price Chopper/Market 32, and Best Fitness.
