Schenectady County’s Thursday Farmers Market, which is located outside of City Hall in Schenectady, will be open starting on May 5, 2022. Market hours are 9:30am to 1:30pm – rain or shine.

The Thursday Farmers Market features products that are grown by area farmers or made by local producers. Chicken, pork, beef, eggs, honey and a variety of baked goods, specialty food items, jams and jellies, and handmade artisan soaps.

“Schenectady County has a robust agricultural community that spans all 5 towns,” said Schenectady County Legislator Gary Hughes, Chair of the Economic Development & Planning Committee. “Our Thursday Farmers Market gives our farmers and local producers another opportunity to showcase their goods. We encourage our residents to visit the market and support our local vendors.”

Weekly updates on market offerings and information about participating vendors and farmers is available will be posted on the Market’s Facebook page (@ThursdaySchenectadyFarmersMarket). A list of vendors is available at www.schenectadycounty.com/farmersmarket.

The market accepts EBT/SNAP benefits to increase accessibility to local, fresh produce. The Thursday Market also participates in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), which allows women and children enrolled in WIC and eligible senior citizens to use FMNP benefit checks/coupons for fresh market produce.
