Schenectady County Congratulates Proctors on their 2022-2023 Broadway Season Announcement

The Schenectady County Legislature congratulates Proctors on their announcement of another outstanding season of Broadway productions coming in 2022 and 2023.

Schenectady County has invested nearly $20 million into Proctors since 2004, including over $11 million invested by Metroplex. The County Legislature kicked off Proctors’ expansion campaign with a $1 million grant and transferred the former Carl Company to Proctors, which allowed for the expansion of the theater to include a new box office, the GE Theatre, conference and retail space, and the “Addy” theatrical training and innovation center. To help them reach their final goal for the expansion campaign the Legislature authorized an additional $450,000 award to Proctors and continues its support of the theatre each year with a $200,000 annual grant from the County’s hotel bed tax. This support continued throughout the pandemic.

“The County Legislature is proud of the significant investment we’ve made in Proctors since 2004, which has helped make it the anchor of our downtown revitalization efforts that began almost 20 years ago,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “We congratulate Proctors on its upcoming season and we look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure that Schenectady County remains a destination for arts and entertainment within the Capital Region and beyond.”
