Schenectady County to Host Job Fair Next Week

Schenectady County Seal

Schenectady County is holding a job fair in the Hon. Karen B. Johnson (Central) Library’s McChesney Room from 11am to 2pm on November 9, 2021.

Representatives from the County’s Glendale Home, Public Library System, Unified Communications Center and Social Services departments, among others, will be available to speak to job seekers at the event. Staff will also be on hand to explain the Civil Service process – from exam applications to taking an exam and beyond.

“County employees are on the front lines when it comes to providing the services our community needs and deserves,” said Schenectady County Legislator Grant Socha, Chair of the Labor & Civil Service Committee “Stop by our job fair to learn more about what career opportunities you may qualify for.”

Job/Career Info/Highlighted positions:

Schenectady County is testing and hiring for a variety of positions. All experience levels are welcome – from high school graduates (or equivalent) to college degrees.

Many families who had not previously received services found themselves applying for assistance during the pandemic. Social Welfare Examiners employ good listening skills and an attention to detail while interacting with individuals who may be experiencing an unexpected crisis to help them access services.
