One of the First to Reach 80 Percent Adult Vaccination in NYS

According to the NYS COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker website, Schenectady County has reached 80 percent adult vaccination (residents 18 years of age or older who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine).

Currently over 103,500 Schenectady County residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which makes up over 66% of the total population.

“Being one of the first counties in New York State to reach 80 percent adult vaccination is an incredible accomplishment for our community,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Health & Human Services. “We continue to encourage all eligible residents who are not yet vaccinated to visit one of our free vaccine clinics – the July schedule is available at www.schenectadycounty.com/COVID19. If you or someone you know is unable to travel to a site, reach out to our team for additional options.”

Schenectady County Delivers Vaccine Program

Schenectady County residents for whom childcare or other concerns have created a significant barrier to getting vaccinated may be able to receive COVID-19 vaccines through the Schenectady County Delivers vaccine program. Residents who are interested in this program should call (518) 836-2400, Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Residents can also leave a message with their name and contact information, and someone will call them back. The program prioritizes individuals who are homebound for medical reasons. Staff will work with residents to address other accessibility challenges as staffing and logistical capacity allow.
