Includes Box Lunch and Live Music

Schenectady County’s Department of Senior & Long Term Care Services will hold a free picnic and drive-thru parade for Schenectady County residents 60 years of age or older on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. The event will be held at SUNY Schenectady’s West Lot.

A bagpiper from Scotia-Glenville High School will greet participants as they line up to receive a boxed lunch, which will include a sandwich, pasta salad, fruit and dessert. Tents, tables and chairs will be available for anyone who would like to stay and eat, and live music will be provided by the SUNY Schenectady Jazz Combo.

“This picnic is a fantastic opportunity to get out and celebrate after more than a year of pandemic-related restrictions,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Health & Human Services. “We’d like to thank Stewart’s Shops and SUNY Schenectady for their generous donations, and we hope Schenectady County seniors enjoy this special event.”

A drive-thru parade will take place from 11-11:30am and participants who stay to eat lunch will receive a special welcome at 11:45am. Prizes will be raffled, with winners called after the event.
