(Schenectady, NY) Schenectady County announced that it has added 3 new charging stations to the County’s portfolio, each station has 2 ports. The charging stations are located in the parking lot at 420 Broadway in downtown Schenectady. Charging is free.

Schenectady County has 2 additional charging stations that are available for public use located at 99 Clinton Street in the Hon. Karen B. Johnson Branch library parking. Drivers will need to download the Charge Port Mobile App to use the new stations. The app also allows users to view which charging stations are currently available.

“Schenectady County continues investing in earth-friendly infrastructure, which both lowers our carbon footprint and provides significant savings to our municipalities and residents,” said Schenectady County Legislator Holly Vellano, Chair of the Committee on Environmental Conservation, Renewable Energy & Parks. “These new electric vehicle charging stations will help cut greenhouse gas emissions and make the County and downtown Schenectady even more EV-friendly for residents and visitors.”

Solar Energy

The Schenectady County Solar Energy Consortium currently consists of 6 solar sites, with a seventh close to completion.
