Over 1,500 Vaccine Appointments Available for Eligible Residents

Schenectady County will hold three COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine PODs (point of dispensing) next week, on Tuesday, April 6, Thursday, April 8, and Friday, April 9 at SUNY Schenectady. Appointments are available online at www.schenectadycounty.com. Approximately 550 appointments are available each day.

Pfizer vaccines are currently approved for 16+ by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Individuals who receive a vaccine at the POD will be signed up during their appointment for their 2nd dose at SUNY Schenectady 21 days later.

“There are over 1,500 appointments available right here in Schenectady County next week,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Health & Human Services. “Starting today, all New Yorkers age 30 and up are eligible to receive a vaccine. While over thirty-six percent of our residents have already received at least one vaccine dose, I am hopeful this number will rapidly increase in the coming weeks. Schenectady County urges all eligible residents to consider scheduling a vaccine appointment as soon as they are able. The more vaccinated residents we have, the safer and healthier our community will be.”
