Available to Individuals with Approved Comorbidities or Underlying Conditions, and 60+
Schenectady County will hold a COVID-19 vaccine POD (point of dispensing) on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 9am to 7pm at Rivers Casino & Resort in the City of Schenectady. Appointments are available online at www.schenectadycounty.com.
Over 1,100 Pfizer vaccines are available for individuals who are 60 years of age or older, or who have a comorbiditity or underlying condition approved by the NYS Department of Health. A list of comorbidities and underlying conditions is available at https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/phased-distribution-vaccine. Individuals with a cormorbidity or underlying condition must bring a doctor’s note to their vaccine appointment.
People who receive a vaccine at the POD will be signed up for their 2nd dose at Rivers 21 days later during their appointment.
“Schenectady County is excited to announce our second mass vaccination site this week at Rivers Casino,” said Schenectady County Legislator Sara Mae Pratt. “We’ve made some adjustments to streamline the process at Thursday’s POD, and ask those with an appointment to not show up any earlier than 10 minutes prior to their appointment time. This will help reduce wait times and also allow more space for social distancing.”
Eligible residents who need help scheduling an appointment can visit participating Schenectady County Public Library branches, or call (518) 299-0518 for assistance.
