The Honor-A-Veteran program is a collaboration between Schenectady County’s Veterans Service Agency and the County’s Honor-A-Veteran Committee to honor veterans who were either born in or currently reside in Schenectady County. Members of the committee are from various veteran organizations throughout the County.
“Our Honor-A-Veteran program provides a meaningful way to recognize those in our community who have served in the military,” said Schenectady County Legislator Holly Vellano, Chair of the Military Affairs & Veterans Committee. “Leonard ‘Lenny’ Porcaro dedicated his life to service—both in the U.S. Army and later as a leader in our local veterans' community. His decades of commitment to the American Legion and advocacy for fellow veterans exemplify the values of duty, honor, and service. We are proud to recognize his contributions and honor his legacy.”
