“We’re excited to expand our Run the Runway 5K into a community day to showcase our airport, ESAM, and the 109th Airlift Wing,” said Anthony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Come join us for a fun day for the whole family, with free entry to ESAM, and information about services available to those who have served in the military.”

Date: Saturday, October 7, 2023

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Empire State Aerosciences Museum, 250 Rudy Chase Drive in Glenville

Run the Runway

Schenectady County is kicking off the day’s events with a 5K race at 9:00 a.m. and a one-mile fun run for kids starting at approximately 10:00 a.m. All sections of the run will be on taxiways and runways that have been resurfaced in the last three years. The course has only approximately 60 vertical feet of total grade change and plenty of space, with the taxiways and runways ranging from 75-150 feet wide. Active military, retirees and veterans will receive a discount on their registration fee. Children 12 years and younger may participate in the fun run for FREE.

Event details, including the course map and parking information, will be updated at www.schenectadycountyny.gov/runtherunway.
