UPDATE: Due to the expected forecast for Saturday, we've made some adjustments to our Run the Runway Community Fun Day: The 5k and 1-mile fun run will take place on the runway starting at the normally scheduled time. Entrance to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum (ESAM) will still be free for everyone all day (Saturday, October 7). Event partners 109th Airlift Wing and Best Fitness will be in ESAM's community room from 10:00am to 1:00pm, along with the Schenectady Sheriff’s Office, who will offer Safe Child ID sign-up.
Strap in and prepare to take off on an adrenaline-pumping 5K at the Schenectady County Airport runway. Lace-up your shoes, hit the tarmac, and reach unbelievable speeds on this flat and fast course. It will feel like you are flying.
Boarding begins at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum. Pre-check your race registration and taxi to the runway for a 9:00 a.m. departure. Young aviators in range of the runway are invited to Run the Runway in a FREE 1-mile fun run at 10:00am. After the run, join the Empire State Aerosciences Museum and the 109th Airlift Wing.
